Kevin Hintsa is in charge of Dept 2 (Suet).  He is an excellent birder with well over 600 species on his ABA list.  He previously worked for Navlet’s Plant Nursery and is very knowledgeable about what plant species grow best in our Tri-Valley area.  He recommends specific plants to attract hummingbirds and butterflies to customer’s gardens.  Kevin is very knowledgeable about butterflies and native plants in the Bay Area.

We carry our own high quality line of suet products for insect eaters like woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, bluebirds, wrens, mockingbirds, etc.

Use “suets” for shady/warm to winter temperatures. Use “suet doughs” for sunny/hot situations. We have quite a few varieties, so keep trying them out until you find the most popular for your backyard. "Fruit Cakes" and “Naturally Nuts©”  are probably the most popular, but many customers would not dare switch from “Bird Bug Bites©!”
