  Margaret Emery is the manager for the book department.  Margaret is an original employee and is active in Ohlone Audubon Society as the curator of the Betty Wentzel Memorial Library.  She knows how to select the right book or jewelry for that special person or occasion.  She has also been the co-chairperson for our Special Event Days that we have put on several times a year.

The Birds of Northern California has large paintings of the 328 species of birds commonly found in California north of Bakersfield. It is color coded to quickly locate bird groups and has an eleven page comparative reference chart. It includes an introduction to bird watching in northern California and detailed identification, status, habitat, nesting, voice, feeding, similar species and range map for each bird.

Birds of San Francisco and the Bay Area has large paintings of 125 common and interesting species in and around San Francisco. It features quick identification tips for each species, descriptions of songs and calls, habitat, nests and food, similar species, and the best birding spots to find them.

In Birding Northern California, John Kemper tells you about nearly 300 prime birding spots, describes how to get there, the species to expect and when to go. It includes 102 site maps, range maps for 173 species, and 15 pages of bar graphs showing bird distribution and status.
